In an attempt to provide well intentioned & constructive feedback, I would advise you to always re-contact your clients in advance of the start day in order to re-confirm the plans, timing, design layout etc, rather than on day 1 of the job. Equally, when fitting in around other tradesmen (such as the underfloor heating), double check dates as to who is doing what when.
